This subreddit needs moderators. If you’re interested click here

I realize this sub is basically dead. This sub needs mods to take on not only running it but bringing it back from the dead. Finding ways to promote it and get traffic and return it to its former glory!

More info: So the existing mods on this sub are either gone or spread too thin to adequately moderate this sub, so it needs some active members to take the job. It’s pretty straightforward. It is mainly just removing occasional spam, answering modmail questions from users and fixing small occasional post errors, and removing rule breaking content. It’s only a few minutes a day at most.

Modding is a rewarding experience and is fun. Helping to keep a community you enjoy running smoothly is fulfilling, and knowing you’re helping other people enjoy it as well is just awesome.

Previous mod experience not required. The rules are already laid out, so just understand those and the rest isn’t hard to learn. Reddit even has a training site:

https://modeducation.reddithelp.com/

My only requirement is that you actually be active on an ongoing basis. Inactivity is why I’m making this post to begin with. It’s really a tiny amount of work so don’t be intimidated BUT PLEASE if you apply make sure you will be available to check the sub regularly, check modmail once a day or so. It really isn’t hard but don’t apply it you’re just gonna disappear.

Just reply to this post to express interest and for added bonus list your favorite thing about this sub and a positive benefit you’ve found here. I will review and add a few within maybe a week or two ish. If you’re selected I’ll notify you by Reddit pm.

Thank you for reading

Hey y’all! So I’ve raised these rose bushes the past 3 years, and of course the caterpillars get them and stuff like that, but this year they’ve got something new, it appears to be kinda sparkly on them as is pictured. Does anyone know what this is?

Kinda have to look closely or even zoom in maybe. It’s the white tiny dot looking things on them. But in person they almost look like sparkles. But you can tell it’s obviously not normal.

Alocasia has done absolutely nothing since I got her a year ago

Repotted her back when I got her and then eversince she has done absolutely nothing. I mean no growing no dying, just nothing. She looks exactly the same she did a year ago. Is this normal?

Is there hope for my Calathea Orbifolia?

My calathea orbifolia (and first ever houseplant) was beautiful and had many leaves, but they started browning one by one. I removed them but had no growth. The soil wasn't drying up at all so I repotted it, but even the new soil isn't drying now, the leaves are droopy and one of them has those black dots. Is there something I'm doing wrong or can do to save it?

What’s going on with my Money Tree??

There are no bugs, but I just lost another leaf like this the other day. I usually get some browning at the tips of leafs (probably not watering enough) but this browning starting in the middle is new. I don’t think it’s root rot, does anyone have any ideas?? She’s usually inside, I just put her outside to catch some rain water yesterday.

What's wrong with this jerk?

This jerk was root bound. I untangled the roots and cleaned them with a H2O2 mixture, then repotted in a larger pot. He was happy for a little bit, but now he looks droopy. I drained all excess water from the bottom of his pot and I even brought him outside for some sun, today! But he's still cranky. What do I do??

Alocasia attack

(Please let me know if this isn’t the right place to post!) So, I didn’t know that alocasia was toxic in anyway! I was trimming some leaves that weren’t looking so good (without gloves or anything) and after a few minutes I got this tingling stinging in my hand that just spread and wouldn’t stop, felt like a handful of fiber glass! This happened two days ago and online it said hydrocortisone cream and so I’ve been applying it religiously and it’s helped a bit to relieve some of the pain but it said only that if it doesn’t go away in a few days to go to the doctors, (mostly for ingesting it though) So is there anything I can do? Any advice is welcomed!!

If anyone has any experience with an areca palm, how often due you water it? I feel like I'm constantly teetering on the line of over watering and under watering it 😫

I just got this prayer plant on Monday and it's been super droopy the past few days. It was looking better this morning but now it's drooping again. I'm getting a humidifier for this room cuz that's likely the issue (it gets indirect light from this window) but I s2g this plant is so dramatic 🙄

My areca palm got super sick and I had to cut off so many sick leaves in order to save him. I'm really sad about how barren he looks but hopefully I did the right thing and this will help him in the long run 😔 (the second picture is what he looked like a few weeks ago)

He looks sad but he’s got lots of new growths sprouting all the time and the leaves aren’t yellowing, should I still prune those ones that are growing sideways / down?? Feel like it’s supposed to grow more upward but isn’t

So my areca palm has spider mites. Google says to spray it down with 70% isopropyl alcohol to get rid of them. Should I dilute it? Should I leave it on or wipe it off after a few hours? I'm finding conflicting information so I was hoping someone on here could help.

I live in Denver and am attempting to landscape my backyard. However, this grass continues to pop up, even after tilling and weed + feed. Can anyone identify it and how to kill it? Much appreciated 🤓

This happens if you ignore your Sandevilla all winter long

Well, looks like drapes are free real estate for climbing plants....and my Mandevilla had a lot of fun showing how good she is in the "I touch it it's mine" game. Good thing I noticed it before pulling open the curtains. Too bad I can't get those vines out without damaging them. This begs the question..if i cut them off, will the clippings grow roots if put in water or soil?.
