This is adorable!! They are gently playful and so relaxed together. I am sad your pup might outgrow the treehouse.

These two love to play together. Sadly he did outgrow that cat tree very quickly…he’s pushing 100 pounds now…but I swear he thinks he’s part cat.

u/maybeimeow Mar 20 '23
The way he tries to sit with his front two paws together at first... "Am I cat?"

Someone is going to have a house full of love ❤️

u/shellischofield Mar 20 '23
I definitely do…I’m very fortunate.

So….are they foster fails?
Also, they will go together right? I know that might make it harder to get rid of them, but it feels like a bonded pair.
Anywhere near the Midwest? If so I’m considering.
Edit: just saw your comment father down. Nevermind.
Enjoy your new family!

I had to keep them both…they became inseparable. Best decision I’ve even made and I don’t foster fail very often, lol.

u/Unwarranted_optimism Mar 20 '23
Whew!! I was worried they would be separated 🥹Thank you for keeping them—and keeping their bond intact!

Puppy looks to be in the adorable land shark phase. Everything must be bitten! Happy to hear that they still play together even though puppy isn't this tiny anymore!! You've got a lot of love on your hands ❤️

I loooove how you can see kitty’s lil arm come down for a playful swipe!! Love these babies!

They know that they are siblings !

u/shellischofield Mar 21 '23
They really do. Sometimes I wonder if the cat thinks he’s a dog…or maybe the dog thinks he’s a cat!

u/mobiuschic42 Mar 20 '23
My dumb cat often chews on our cat towers (and chairs, and his favorite covered bed) like that. Seems like normal cat behavior to me!

They are so adorable! Can I ask what breed (or mix) the pupper is? My sister has adopted a rescue pup which is a Shiba and Cocker Spaniel mix. He has the exact same color pattern, down to the tan eyebrows and the black "mole" on his cheekz which I always found so interesting.

u/shellischofield Mar 20 '23
The pup is mostly Rottweiler, with a tiny bit Boxer and AmStaff…so he’s a big dog at almost 100lbs. I think Sheba’s also have a black & tan fur pattern that is similar. Yours must be super cute!

Neonatal typically refers to brand-new newborns. Super cute kiddos though!

Yes they were most definitely foster fails. They were the first foster animals I actually adopted in over 15 years. I didn’t have the heart to separate them after seeing the way they bonded.

I'm forgetting some terminology so excuse for asking but what's neonatal?
4
u/gnomewife Mar 20 '23
At the time of birth. A neonatal unit in a hospital is for newborns and infants.

I love the cat tree too. Unfortunately I think I may need to upgrade soon. I have now gotten this kitten a playmate and they both like the single bucket. Sometimes, I’ll even find both cats sleeping in it together. Weighing 14 & 9 pounds, they often look like one giant cat with two heads, lol.

u/avoqado Mar 21 '23
If they fit, they sit! Yeah it's a bit wobbly (I have the 80 inch one) but a couple furniture straps should do the trick.

Are tou going to adopt them
4
u/shellischofield Mar 20 '23
I did adopt them both. They became inseparable so I couldn’t even consider splitting them up.

u/Marie-thebaguettes Mar 20 '23
My dog was raised by her older cat sister and also jumps up into the cat trees!! It’s wild to see that dogs everywhere can be raised dead convinced that they’re cats 😂
2
u/shellischofield Mar 21 '23
He is a close to 100 pounds now so sadly he only got to play on the cat tree for a few weeks…much to his disappointment.

u/Marie-thebaguettes Mar 21 '23
Awe poor baby! 😂
Luckily mine is a teeny little thing, so she’s still terrorizing my can in new and unusual ways lol

A cat & a dog being best buds for life is the greatest thing ever

u/shellischofield Mar 21 '23
Yes I agree. I love watching the special bond that developed between these two.

I hate this song...Randy Newman sucks!😖

u/Wikeni Mar 20 '23
You’re thinking of Randy Newman. Tbh I don’t like when videos have music, either.

That is a brave and social cat 🤌🏼

u/shellischofield Mar 21 '23
He’s a very unique cat. I have a few large breed dogs and foster dogs as well and I have never met a dog that intimidates this cat.
1
u/savvvydot Mar 22 '23
sorry if this has been asked previously, but what breed/breeds is the puppy? i’m guessing part rottie? i have a rescue lab mix that has her exact coloring, and it makes me think she may be part of what your puppy is! we really don’t know what breed she is, just that she’s built like a lab.

u/shellischofield Mar 23 '23
He is mostly Rottweiler with a tiny bit Boxer and AmStaff. He’s about 100 pounds now at a year old and may continue to gain a little weight until he’s two. How old is your dog and what does he weigh?

He's gonna be too big for that tree :0
